Valerie B. Sampalis

Valerie B. (Hall) Sampalis, 79, passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2024. She was the wife of the late Demetrius D. Sampalis. Born in Meadford, MA, a daughter of the late George C. and Ruth (Alger) Hall.
Mrs. Sampalis was a Dunkin' Donuts franchise owner with her husband since 1969, and retired in 2019. She has been a Johnston resident since 1978 and was an avid quilter. She enjoyed meeting with her friends at the Greenville Library and enjoyed spending time at her "happy place" on Cape Cod. She was a member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, a member of its Parish Council, and the Savas Savidas Scholarship Committee.
She was the loving mother of Paula A. Schiavitti (Thomas) of Smithfield, Dennis J. Sampalis (Beth) of Scituate, and Kristina R. Sampalis Campbell (Scott) of Smithfield. She was the sister of Nancy Kirkwood of Smithfield. Valerie is also survived by her grandchildren Francesca Schiavitti, Giana Schiavitti, Alexandria Sampalis, Demetrius Sampalis, and Henry Campbell.
Her funeral will be held Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at 8:30 am from the TUCKER-QUINN Funeral Chapel, 643 Putnam Pike, Greenville, with a funeral service at 10 am in the Church of the Annunciation, 175 Oaklawn Ave., Cranston. Entombment will be in Highland Memorial Park Cemetery, Johnston. Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 24, 2024 from 4-7 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s PL, Memphis, TN 38105-9959, will be appreciated.
