Valerie M. (Haggerty) Thomas, 80, of West Newton, died Saturday, Nov. 15, 2025, in the Jefferson Hospital. She was born Feb. 28, 1945, in Greensburg, a daughter of the late Hugh V. and Dorothy A. Stauffer Haggerty. Valerie was a member of Blessed Sacrament Cathedral. She enjoyed bowling and playing cards, but her greatest joy came from time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her four sons, Regis P., Joseph, Regis P., and Paul V. Bodnar; a grandson, Jeremy Scifo; and two sisters, Eileen P. Haggerty and Rose Anne Haggerty. She is survived by her daughter, Regina Bodnar of Grapeville; her son, Daryl 'DJ' Thomas of New Stanton; six grandchildren, Regis and Mathew Bodnar, Samantha Clark (Stephen), Sarah Bodnar, Ashley Keeley (Dan), and Tara Moyer; a great-grandson, David, who was the apple of her eye; a sister, Dorothy Stofko of Marguerite; and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends of Valerie will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2025, in CLEMENT L. PANTALONE FUNERAL HOME INC., 409 W. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg, PA 15601, (724)-837-0020. Prayers of transfer will be said in the funeral home at 9 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, 2025, followed by a funeral Mass to be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. in the Blessed Sacrament Cathedral.
