Vanessa Lee Nelson, age 61, of Howell, passed away Thursday, July 28, 2022 surrounded by her family at home. A memorial service will be held Monday, August 1, 2022, at 4:00 pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1041 W Grand River Rd., Howell, Mi 48843.
She was born February 1, 1961 in Jacksonville, Florida, the daughter of Ralph Lamar and Nancy Yvonne (Mathisen) Clark. She is survived by her husband Charles "Chuck", children James (Cari) Helton, Joseph (Stephanie) Nelson, Ryan (Jackie) Nelson and Taylor Nelson. Grandmother of Jamie Helton, Anastasia Nelson and Bridget Nelson. Also survived by her mother Nancy Clark, brothers Ralph Clark, sisters Madonna Vorwaller, Kimberly Allen, Paige Moore, Munni Lux and several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her father and brother Darrien Clark. Vanessa enjoyed reading, taking walks, spending time with her children, trips to Florida to spend time with family, music and dancing, being with her dogs and watching t.v. She will be remembered for wanting to help others anytime she could.

Vanessa will always be remembered by her humble spirit. I still recall, from years ago, her singing "I Am A Child of God' in sacrament before the congregation. What an example to her children. She
also took in a cat and rabbit of ours that we could no longer shelter. She will be missed. Much love to the family.
