Vang Tily Thor, also known to many as Vaj Thoj, was born on February 5, 1950 in Laos. Arrived to America around the time of the Vietnam War with friends and family. Settled down in Venus, TX in the late 1990's and married to his wife, Kia Ly, in which they had 3 sons.
Spent his entire career as a manufacturing specialist for Diab, located in DeSoto, TX, in the 1980's. He was part of a selective group of individuals that began working with Divinycell, a PVC foam core material with excellent strength-to weight, to construct motorboats. He retired from Diab, in the early 2010's.
He was outgoing and spent most of his free time outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman will be missed by many. He will be remembered by the Hmong Community of Texas as a person always willing to help. Vaj Thoj passed away peacefully on January 17, 2026 in Midlothian, TX at the age of 75.
