Vangelene Wright Obituary

Published by Legacy on Nov. 8, 2025.
One of 5 children born to James and Mayo Jackson, Vangelene Wright was born on March 9, 1936 in Union County, North Carolina. She departed for her heavenly home surrounded by her loved ones on November 3, 2025.
Vangelene served as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Fairfield Manor until her retirement. Her role allowed her to fully express her compassionate nature, making a positive impact on the lives of those she cared for. Outside of her job, she found joy and comfort in the simple pleasures of life, such as good food, church, and the company of friends and family. She touched many lives with her compassion, dedication, and generosity. Her life was centered around her late husband Ollie and their 4 children. She made it her mission to ensure their happiness and well-being. As the Apostle Paul said, "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud." (1 Corinthians 13:4) Vangelene embodied this scripture, always giving more than she received.
Centered in God, Vangelene's faith, strength, and resilience helped her to endure throughout the 15 years of her illness. She fought the good fight; she remained faithful and now, she has finished the race.
Vangelene is survived by her children in which her legacy of love and faith will live on through them. She is preceded in death by her Parents and Husband.
We invite everyone who was touched by Vangelene's love and generosity to leave their memories and upload photos to her memorial page. May her spirit of love and kindness continue to inspire us all. Rest in peace, Vangelene. Your faith has carried you home.
