Vani Jo Quattlebaum Geroy, 73, was welcomed into heaven on March 13, 2025. Vani Jo was affectionately called "Jokie" by her father, which originated from her funny antics as a little girl. She maintained that playful, fun-loving nature throughout her life, and the nickname stayed with her. Even her grandchildren called her the family nickname "Jokie." She loved springtime, flowers, music, laughter, babies, cooking and baking, and most of all spending time with her family and friends. In recent years, a highlight of each week was her Friday lunch with a cherished group of friends. She especially enjoyed singing and playing both piano and organ, and she shared those talents with her children and grandchildren.
Vani was born in Searcy on Nov. 21, 1951, to Ivan and Frances Quattlebaum. She and her husband, Greg Geroy, owned and operated Quattlebaum Music Store on the downtown court square for 37 years. Vani was an active member of her beloved community, serving as a CARTI volunteer and participating in Beta Sigma Phi. She was an organist, pianist, choir member and handbell choir member for her churches throughout her lifetime. She was known by her family and friends as one of the first to offer support in times of need, and she made the best chocolate pies, which she provided at every family celebration to the delight of all.
Vani is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Greg Geroy; daughters Holly Montgomery, Bonnie Montgomery and Paige Hart (Adam); siblings, Sherry Person (Leon, deceased), Nancy Davis (Ed) and Steve Quattlebaum (Kathy); grandchildren, Stephen Russelle, Ivan Montgomery, Bonnie Elizabeth Hart and Adam Rhett Hart; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, all of whom she loved dearly.
