Veda Mae Branham

Veda Mae Branham, age 75, of Sullivan County, TN, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 12, 2024. Veda was born on May 1, 1949, in Scott County, VA to a farming family, Daniel and Corrine Lane. At age 19, after the passing of her mother, she took on the responsibility of raising her brothers and sisters. Veda remained close to her family through the years.
She was a homemaker loved home cooking, canning, and gardening. One of her favorite pastime's was sitting on her porch having coffee and long conversations with her sisters. Veda also enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren along with shopping and collecting knick-knacks. The legacy she leaves behind is that of resilience and strength which will live on in her family for generations.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Branham; grandson, Kaleb Lovell; two sisters, Phyllis Ann Livesay, and Opal Lane; one brother, Gary Lee Lane; and her special uncle, Ballard Lane.
Those left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Leslie Riner and husband Brad, and Dawn Perry and husband Paul; son, Neil Lane and wife Angela; ten grandchildren, Sasha Williams and husband Cody, Brandy Blair and husband Ben, Heather McCowan and husband Nick, Shaun Lane and wife Sarah, Emily Lovell, Adam Perry, Mason Perry, Houston McKnight, Hanna "Sloane" McKnight, and Hayden McKnight; twelve great grandchildren, Camden, Cooper, Harper, Kolten, Luke, Gracie, Addie, Maggie, Waylon, Levi, Hudson, and Anna Belle Grace; five sisters, Barbra "Bobbie" Gean Lane, Patricia Isley, Tina Gibson, Sue McDavid, and Reginia McDavid; three brothers, Tom Lane, R.B. Lane, and Roger Lane; and many loving nieces, nephews, and other family members.
The family would like to give a special "Thank You" to the caregivers at Nova Healthcare.
There will be a graveside service on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at 3:00 pm at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in the Midway Community, VA. Pastors Johnny Gibson and Kaleb Gibson will be officiating. Neil Lane, Shaun Lane, Houston McKnight, Adam Perry, Hayden McKnight, Mason Perry, and Camden Williams will be serving as pallbearers. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 2:50 pm.
