Velda Anne Bradley

Velda Anne Stansberry Bradley, 79, of Chickamauga, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2026. She was born on August 22, 1946, in Delano, Tennessee, to the late Winston Stansberry Sr. and Delcie Stansberry.

Velda grew up in Rock Spring, Georgia, and was a graduate of LaFayette High School. She later earned degrees in Medical Coding and Business Management from Walker Technical College. Velda dedicated many years of service in the healthcare field, retiring from Hutcheson Medical Center as an office administrator and from Parkridge Hospital as an Office Information Technologist.

She was of the Baptist faith and found joy in life's simple pleasures. Velda loved shopping, cooking, cake decorating, and traveling-especially to the beaches of Florida. She also cherished the companionship of her beloved dog, Molly.

In addition to her parents, Velda was preceded in death by her husband, Walter "Leroy" Bradley, and her daughter, Stefanie Baggett Davis.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Michelle (Kevin) Fitzgerald; her sisters, Marie Peterson and Trudy (Doug) Barker; and her brother, Winston Jr. (Sheila) Stansberry.

She was a proud grandmother to Brandi (Mechelle) Rose, Raymond (Amanda) Bentley, DJ Fitzgerald, Tesla Davis, and Paul Davis; and a loving great-grandmother to Caleigh Jones and her fiancé Jeremiah Smith, Lucas Jones, Madison Jones, Madison Patterson, Scarlett Bentley, and Elizabeth Bentley. She was also blessed with two great-great-grandchildren, Sawyer and Hudson Smith. Velda is also survived by many extended family members and dear friends.

The family will receive friends on Friday, March 27, 2026, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, March 27, 2026, in the funeral home chapel, with interment to follow at LaFayette Memory Gardens.
