Christian Biography of Velda Roe
Velda Anne Lee Roe, the daughter of Thomas and Dorothy (Kerstetter) Lee, was born on April 29, 1942 in Longview, Washington. She passed away on May 9, 2025 at the Brodstone Healthcare at Superior, Nebraska at the age of 83 years, and 10 days.
Velda attended school in Weeping Water and was a high school graduate. She was united in marriage to Gary Roe on December 27, 1961 at Weeping Water, Nebraska and to this union 3 children were born.
Velda was lunch room cook, which she did for many years. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, knitting, reading, and being a mother and grandmother. She volunteered for 5 years at the Hope Pregnancy Center in Superior.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gary and her son Gregg, infant son Grant, great grandchild Iris, and brother in law Gene Tlustous.
Survivors include her daughter Joni (John) Anderson of Superior; three grandchildren Garett (Sarah) Roe and daughter Kenna of Hastings, Kara Roe and daughter Kinsley of Red Cloud, and Breanna (Daron) Hovious and children Jace, Zev and Winry of Hastings, siblings Bevelee (Tom) Hays of Omaha, Judy Tlustous of Omaha and Mary Barbara Craig of Ashland; nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
