Velia M. "Val" Rotante

Obituary
Velia "Val" Rotante of Phoenixville, PA, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2023. She was 95 years old. Val was born in the Bronx in 1928- the daughter of the late Isabella and Anthony Capilupi. She was preceded in death by her adored husband (and love of her life) Anthony "Tony" Rotante, brother Joseph Capilupi, and sister-in-law (and friend) Charlotte Capilupi.
During her younger years, Val worked at Bloomindales in NYC, and later as a full-time mom, Brownie leader, and all-round volunteer at Holy Rosary School. In later years, she worked as a receptionist in the field of health insurance.
While forever a true New Yorker, during her adult years, Val was blessed to live in several wonderful communities throughout New York, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania. An avid travel enthusiast and passionate lover of animals, her greatest joy was her family, especially her granddaughter.
She is dearly loved and will forever be missed by those who survive her: Her daughter Victoria Rotante, son-in-law Wayne Zawaski and granddaughter (and greatest love) Sarah Rotante.
Val will be buried with her beloved husband in a private ceremony at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Valhalla, NY. A celebration of Val's life will be held at a future date in 2023. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
