Velma Campbell, age 106, of Williamsville, passed away on Saturday, December 6, 2025 at Villas of Holly Brook in Pekin, IL.
She was born July 2, 1919 in Mt. Vernon, IL.
Velma married Don Campbell on September 7, 1967 in O’Fallon, IL.
Mourning her passing are her daughter, Brenda (Gary) Heriford of Pekin; son, Tony (Mickey) Campbell of Richmond, KY; daughters, Sally (Dr. James) Martell of Bourbonnais; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Don; two sons, Wendell Porter and Michael Campbell; one grandchild, Nathan Beard; a brother, Howard Summers; and a sister, Helen Smith.
Velma graduated from Mt. Vernon High School.
She retired from Illinois Bell in 1974 after 37 years of service. Velma also retired from the State of Illinois in 2009 at the age of 90.
Velma was a member of Illinois Bell Pioneers, Williamsville United Methodist Church, and Illinois Farm Bureau.
She enjoyed bowling in her younger years. Velma also loved to crochet and knit.
Visitation for Velma will be held on Thursday, December 11, 2025 from 12:00 PM until time of funeral services at 2:00 PM at Mott & Henning Funeral Home in Athens, IL.
Burial will be held at Walnut Hill Cemetery near Williamsville, IL.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Williamsville United Methodist Church.
