Velma Ruth Darity, née White, passed away peacefully May 26, 2025, at her home in Parker, Texas. Surrounded by family, Ruth went on to be with her Lord and Savior just four months shy of her 89th birthday.
Velma Ruth was born on September 22, 1936, in Lawton Oklahoma, to Bruce Bennie and Virginia Florence White. Ruth had one brother, Bennie R White. Ruth graduated from San Rafael High School in 1955 and at that same time met the person who became the love of her life, Mike Darity, Jr. They married on March 12, 1955, and would go on to have three daughters together, Verlinda, Judy, and Sharon.
The family moved to Plano, Texas in 1968, where she worked as a stay-at-home Mom lovingly caring for her daughters and husband. It was at this time she met the person who became her best friend for more than fifty-five years, Ann Phillips.
Ruth and Mike moved to Princeton, Texas in 1976. They had a wonderful life in Princeton and lots of grandchildren along the way. Her Christian faith played a powerful role in her life, and she was an active member at Your Community Church, (formerly First Baptist Church, Branch) for over 40 years.
She is survived by her three daughters, Verlinda Uhl, Judy Emerson (Rod) and Sharon Eaheart (John). She was blessed with ten grandchildren, Michael, Alex, Ashley, Amy, Clint, Melanie, Kelli, Jamie, Casie, Kerrie and twenty-eight Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Mike Darity Jr., brother Bennie R White, parents Virginia and Bruce White, grandparents Alpha and George Kindrick.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m., May 29th, 2025, at Your Community Church, Branch, Texas. A one-hour visitation prior to the service will be held from 10-11:00 a.m.
