Velma Lillian Louise (Baade) Miller was born on April 7, 1932 and went to her heavenly home on February 1, 2024. There will be a memorial service 11AM Wednesday February 7, 2024 at the Church of Christ in Truman with Rev. Merrill Davis officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30-11:00am Wednesday at the church. Burial will be at Ridgelawn Cemetery in Truman.
She was born in Sanford County South Dakota to Lester and Edna (Marsden) Baade in the same house that her father was born in. During the Great Depression at the age of four she moved to MN. She graduated from Truman High School in 1950. Met her husband Harold Miller while rollerskating and they married on February 11, 1956, enjoying 67 years of marriage before his passing.
Velma worked very hard on the farm and raising her family. She loved gardening and sharing the fruits of her labor as well as doing handiwork especially crocheting. She had a huge heart, and many experienced the impression she left. Her entire family knows the life breath of the family flows from her.
She is survived by her children; Joyce Deeds, David (Belinda) Miller, Kenneth (Julie) Miller, Susanne (Tim) McKay, Ross Miller, and William Miller. Grandchildren; Gina, Andrew, Craig, Bridget, Joseph, Brandon, James, Steven, Michael, and Tiffany. Great-grandchildren; Alaric, McKaleigh, Greyson, Adeline, Zane, Zoey, Emma, Kodi, Willa, Andi, Knox, Miles, Norah, Chase, Darwin, Ezra, Cameron, Kadyn, Ely, Dakota, Wyatt, Joshua, Savannah, Cooper, Awndre, Izaiah, Marshall, Zachary, Logan, Ciara, Natalie, Austin, Mackena, and Casen, great-great-grandchild, King and brother, Omar Baade.
She is preceded in death by her husband Harold, grandson Roger Deeds, siblings Dalaine (Shirley)Baade, Delois (Clayton) Sorgatz, Lovilla (Lawrence) Hartmann and sister-in-law Jane Baade.
