Velma Louise Montieth

Velma Louise Montieth, 92, wife of the late John Montieth, died Monday, March 10, 2025.
Born in Greenville, SC, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Ethel Stockton King.
Velma was a lifelong member of Woodside Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and sung in the choir. She loved the Lord with all her heart and adored her family, especially her grandkids.
She is survived by daughter, Jane Presley; sons, Michael Monteith (Connie), Phillip Monteith (Vickie), and John Montieth (Jewell); nine grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; sister, Edna Cisson; and brother, Jerry King.
In addition to her beloved husband she was preceded in death by her sisters, Hattie King, Nell Manley and Jenette Peterson; and brother, Robert King.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, March 12, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Northwest. The funeral service will be Thursday, March 13, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Woodside Baptist Church. Burial will be held in Graceland Cemetery West.
