Vera (Vicki) Katherine Harper went to be with our Lord on Monday, Nov. 3, 2025.
She was born to Nolan and Mildred (Lowe) Lewis June 4, 1928 and was joined in marriage to George L. Harper in August 1949.
To this union were born two daughters, Linda Hayden White, Westfield and Paula Wright, wife of Dick Wright, Spencerville. She was blessed with a granddaughter, Crissa Hayden-Fruits; four grandsons, Jamie Hayden, Nathan, Benjamin and Daniel Wright; seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
She was proceeded in death by her husband, her four brothers, one sister, one stepbrother and is survived by two half sisters.
Sewing was her gift which she continued using throughout her life. After a career as a seamstress at Hart, Schaffner & Marx, she continued her sewing passion by hand stitching amazing quilts. One of her beautiful quilts won a blue ribbon at the Indiana State Fair. Her quilts included bed quilts, lap quilts and jean quilts which she generously shared with family, friends and many others.
FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Fort Wayne, was in charge of arrangements.

Dear family and friends, Please accept my deepest condolences at this difficult time. I knew Vera from First Christian Church where she worked on many mission projects, especially the quilts and blankets for young mothers and babies. Vera also generously gave me an interview about her life for a graduate class. We met in the quilting barn behind their house, which was cozy and beautiful. May your faith and good memories comfort you in the days ahead. In sympathy, Susan
