Vera Mae McCabe, 80, of Nashville, Tennessee and former area resident passed away on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at her daughter's home in Tennessee, surrounded by her family.

Vera was born on June 17, 1942, in Troy, Iowa, the daughter of William and Eva (Brewer) Freshour. As a young child she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior. She leaves to cherish her loving memory, Earl (Rochelle) McCabe of Fairfield, Linda (Stacy) Hunt of Nashville, Tennessee, Jane (Jim) Miller of Wayland, and Kenny (Bev) McCabe of Junction City, Kansas, along with several grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Vera was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Carol Kiefer, grandsons, Shae McCabe and Jeremy Rogers, great grandson, Dakota Kiefer and her brothers and sisters, Mary Graves, Joe Freshour, Kathy Freshour, Jack Freshour, Dena Richardson, Gale Patterson and Helen Freshour.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at the Murphy Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Pastor David Forrester officiating.
