Vera Corene Craven Williams, 94, of Moultrie, passed away on Saturday, January 31, 2026.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home with Reverend Jackie Cabaniss, Reverend Dr. John David Williams, and Reverend Don Williams officiating. Interment to follow at China Grove Cemetery. John David Williams, Jonathan Williams, Caleb Williams, Joshua Williams, Donnie Lawson, Eric Lawson, Scott Turner and Kenny Fortune will serve as pallbearers. Her granddaughters, Julianna Morlan, Heather Grantham, Haley Fortune, and Lisa Cusimano, will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home.
Born on October 22, 1931, in Ellenton, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Willis Raymond Craven and Mary Jane Strawder Craven. Mrs. Williams enjoyed traveling, doing word searches, and listening to bluegrass music. She loved game shows, with Wheel of Fortune being her favorite. She even appeared in movies as an extra and was once a contestant on Family Feud. She was a lifelong member of China Grove Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Williams; son, Hank Williams; grandson, James Micah Williams; brother, Ralph Craven; sisters, Florene Craven Horsley, Marie Gornto, and Irene Craven Wilder.
She is survived by her children, Reverend Don and Jeanne Williams of Macon, Sandra and David Brock of Moultrie, Debra and Ricky Turner of Moultrie, Wanda and Ken Fortune of Eatonton, and daughter-in-law, Belinda Baker Williams of Hoschton; grandchildren, John David Williams and wife Sabrina, Jonathan Williams, Julianna Morlan and husband Derrick, Caleb Williams, Joshua Wiliams, Donnie Lawson and wife Jennifer, Eric Lawson and wife Calie, Scott Turner and wife Marlana, Heather Grantham and husband Bradley, Haley Fortune and husband Jody, Kenny Fortune and Lisa Cusimano; 22 great-grandchildren; 3 great-greatgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
