Hello family, I offer my heartfelt condolences to all of you in the passing of your beloved Verdell. She is my first cousin and her birthday came one day after mine. We made a point to call each other for our birthdays. In 1973, Verdell rode the bus to Nashville, Tennessee to Fisk University to spend Homecoming weekend with me. We had an amazing time together. Also. In May 2004, Verdell show up the day before her Aunt Mattie“s funeral. I remember so vividly seeing her walking in our yard with a cane from the bus station. That gesture meant so much to me. My cousin was spontaneous with her calls and visits. She loved her family and life. Rest in peace my dear cousin.
Sincerely,
Jacqueline Dixon Knight
