Verna Rae Cross was born on October 7, 1981 in Pine Ridge, SD to Vernal and Darlene (Waters) Cross. Verna made her journey to the Spirit World on April 11, 2024 at the Monument Health Hospital in Rapid City, SD.
Verna is survived by her children, Katana Cross/Dillon, Aurora Cross, Tasunke Cross, Deandre Cross, her beloved twins; brothers and sisters, Michael Cross, Norma Cross, Cheryl Cross, Dana Cross, Jerry Cross, Calvin Cross, Tammy Cross, Lawrence Cross & more; Hunka family, including BC & Carol Nowlin.
Verna was preceded in death by her parents, Vernal Cross, Sr. and Darlene (Waters) Cross; brothers & sisters, Vernal Cross, Jr., Tyler Cross, Margaret Cross, and Nathan Cross; and nephew, Brandon Cross-Archoleta.
Pallbearers will be Royce Cross, Justin Picketpin, Jordan Picketpin, Ricardo "Spike" Garcia, Patrick White Face, Jim Lyons, BC Nowlin, and Carl.
Honorary pallbearers will be all of Wanagi Oyate, Sundancers, Iva Stover, Mike Cross, Jr., Taliyah Whirlwind Horse/Cross, Derek Cross, Darren Cross, Debra Cross, Kayla Cross, Mariah Cross, Melena Cross, Katara Cross, Tashina & Jordan Bull Bear, Jim Cross, Misty Cross, Francis Red Feather, Susan Albright, Char Sundust, Eeyan Moose, Edwin Cross, Katlyn Cross, Joyce Goings, Shane Montgomery, Bobby Red Feather, Theresa & Howard Red Feather, Marie Edwards, all of the Cross family, Waters Family, Goings Family, Montgomery Family, and all loved ones, friends, & relatives.
Wake Services: Two night wake service with the first night starting at 3:00 PM, Monday, April 22, 2024 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church Hall in Kyle, SD and the second night starting at 12:30 PM, Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at the Cross Residence Sundance Grounds near Kyle, SD.
Funeral Services: 2:00 PM, Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at the Cross Residence Sundance Grounds near Kyle, SD.
Traditional Lakota Services: James Star Comes Out
Burial Services: Cross Family Cemetery, Kyle, SD
