Verna Mae Little was the wife of the late Rodger Little and was born May 23, 1932 and baptized on April 12, 1936. She passed quietly and peacefully with family on April 12, 2023, 87 years to the day of her baptism, at the age of 90.
Verna was born in Clarence, Pennsylvania to Clair and Annie Watson. Verna grew up in Snow Shoe, Pennsylvania with two brothers (Clair and Marlin), and two sisters (Marijayne and Dorothy).
While living in Snow Shoe she met Rodger Little whom she would later marry. They moved to Wayne, Michigan and raised a family with four children (3 girls and one boy) until his death at the age of 57. Verna never remarried as she said he was "the love of my life."
She was a friend to everybody and, especially, her children's friends. It was common to see her children's friends over at the house just chatting with "Mrs. Little" whether her kids were home or not. Everybody knew the door was open and they were welcome to come by and chat anytime. Verna enjoyed sports, especially baseball and football, and played golf, softball, volleyball and bowling.
Verna is pre-deceased by granddaughter Stanna Walters and step grandson Matt Green.
She is survived by four generations of family.
Four children – Daughters Denise Green, Kim Rattray, Marijayne Walters and son Jim Little.
Eight grandchildren – Greg Carrico, Dana Carrico, Bridget Copeland, Tony Carrico, Ryan Rattray, Zack Walters, Taylor Walters, Reagan Little and five step grandchildren Dustin Evans, Alex Evans, Erin Muir, Corey Green, and Carrie Green-Carrico.
Twelve great grandchildren – Derrick Ferguson, Dustin Ferguson, Christian Carrico-Madden, Damian Hoffman, Ryker Hoffman, Noah Carrico, Kaylee Carrico, Eyan Carrico, Devon Copeland, Mikaela Carrico, Mya Carrico, and Presley Rattray. Four great step-grandchildren Collin Muir, Max Muir, Madeline Muir, and Ashlynn Green.
Three great-great grandchildren – Loraina Ferguson, Leeann Ferguson, and Ella Ferguson
She will be laid to rest in Drifting, Pennsylvania and be together again with "the love of her life."
