Verna Ann (Nemechek) Williams, age 82 of Beatrice, Nebraska, passed away Thursday, February 27, 2025, at Beatrice Health and Rehabilitation.

She was born on April 26, 1942, on a farm north of Waterville, the daughter of Roy and Lucile Lenora (Lillibridge) Nemechek.

Verna was a CNA for nursing homes in Blue Rapids and Marysville and at Marysville Hospital. She loved the outdoors and living on acreage. She raised pigs, goats, Boston terriers, and all types of birds, including cockatiels. Gardening was a passion, and she canned everything she could out of her garden.

She is survived by two sons, Rick Newman and Paula of Linn and Daniel Newman and Cathy of Homesville, Nebraska; two daughters, Annie McCory of Lincoln, Nebraska and Pam Lottman and Bob of Beatrice, Nebraska; two brothers, Lyle Nemechek and George Nemechek; one sister, Vera Walsh; seven grandchildren, Tiffany Zvolanek and Jason, Gabriel Beavers, Jacob Beavers, Jinny Greer, Quincy Newman, Christina Gehring and Todd, and Timothy Newman; many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Donald Nemechek, Melvin Nemechek and Robert Nemechek; three sisters, Mabel Brewer, Wilma Hogan and Donna Whitesell; her great grandson, Gavin Beavers, and two husbands, William Moslander and Melvin Williams.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at the Blue Rapids United Methodist Church with Pastor Derek Slack officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until service time on Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in the Fairmont Cemetery.

A memorial may be made to the Blue Rapids United Methodist Church. Contributions may be left in care of the Christie-Anderes Funeral Home, PO Box 61, Waterville, Kansas 66548.
