Verna Trotman Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Davis Funeral Home - Mattapan on Mar. 30, 2026.
Verna Elizabeth Wayne Trotman, 81, of Dorchester, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2026, in Beverly.

Verna was a deeply loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, great-aunt, and grandmother whose warmth could be felt by everyone who knew her. She was known for her kind and listening ear, always ready to offer thoughtful advice, unwavering support, and a comforting presence. Verna also had a playful spirit and a wonderful sense of humor, and her warm, contagious laugh brought light and joy to those around her.

Throughout her life, Verna embraced many roles with grace and determination, including working alongside her beloved husband as a business owner and later as a pharmacy technician.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Gerald K. Trotman, and her dear nephew, Gregory Wayne. She is now reunited in eternal peace and rests in the presence of our Heavenly Father.

Verna is survived by her loving children, David Maurice Rawles, Gerald A. Trotman, and Sheleah L. Trotman; her sister, Joanne Chislom-Richemond; her nieces, Alma Chislom and Renae Owens; her cherished grandchildren; and a host of great-nieces and great-nephews who will continue to carry her love forward.

Family and friends are invited to honor and celebrate Verna's life at St. Katharine Drexel Parish. A viewing will be held on Saturday, April 11, at 10:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM. A reception will follow.

"Her children rise up and call her blessed." – Proverbs 31:28
