Born November 2, 1966, to the late Dan and Maseola Singleton, Vernetta accepted Christ at an early age when she attended Peaceful Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. She later became a member of St. Peter CME Church. She transitioned into Heaven on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, in Memphis, TN at Methodist Central Hospital.  A Memorial Service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at 12:00 Noon at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN.  A visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2023, from 10:30 AM – 12:00 Noon.   

Vernetta enjoyed cooking, traveling, shopping and spending time with her family (especially her grandchildren). She was employed for over 30 years at Westlake Pipe & Fittings in Brownsville, TN.  

 Vernetta leaves to cherish three children Michael (Robin) Taylor of Louisville, KY; Carlos Singleton of Naples, FL; and Donquetta Singleton of Collierville, TN. She also leaves one sister Luanne Singleton of Little Rock, AR; four brothers, John Singleton of Jackson, TN; Leon (Carmen) Singleton of San Antonio, TX; Derrick Singleton of Jackson, TN; Jason (Jeannette) Singleton of Auburndale, FL and a very special friend Andre Pendergrass Jr. of Brownsville, TN.  

 Vernetta leaves behind 11 grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles, aunts and many friends. She was preceded in death by siblings Diane Nixon, Dan Singleton Jr., Joyce Singleton and Stanley Singleton.

The Singleton family would like to express its sincere thanks to everyone during this time of bereavement. Thank you for all the calls, prayers, and acts of kindness. It is greatly appreciated. Please continue to keep the family in your prayers.
