"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." 2 Timothy 4:7. Vernie Stephens Leteff, of Denham Springs, passed away December 2, 2012 at Harvest Manor Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her children, Betty and Cecil Street, Margaret and Buddy McBeth, Ed and Shawn Stephens, B.J. Stephens and special companion Carol Thornhill, children's half-sisters, Wilda Stephens Hill, Melba Stephens Haley and Geraldine Stephens Riles, sisters, Nellie Rae Plasted, Sallie Johnson, Margie Gains, and Helen Palmer, nine grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, many loving friends, and special pet Tiny. She is preceded in death by, daughter, Frankie Faye Jenkins, brother, Wesley Barber, parents, Myrtle and Collins Barber, spouse, Chester Leteff, and childrens' father, Broadus Stephens. Pallbearers will be Robert Garcia, Lane Garcia, J.R. McBeth, Scott Stephens, Rex Jeter, and James Haley. Honorary pallbearer will be Zach Stephens. There will be a visitation held on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 from 9:00 am until funeral service at 1:00 pm conducted by Bro. Max Landry with special words from J.R. McBeth. Burial will follow the service at Beechridge Cemetery. The graveside service will be conducted by Rev. Herman Holland. Special thank you and gratitude to Harvest Manor Staff, Life Source staff, and Ochsner E.R. Medical Staff. "We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord" 2 Corinthians 5:8.
