Chip was an incredible ballplayer in high school but moreover a fantastic person. I was with him when we won the State Championships and he was the "goto" guy when we needed hoops inside. Although I didn't play much in those games, it was an honor to be associated with a guy of such class. Peace and healing go to Chip's family. Well- done, my friend. well-done

Peace to you and your family Matt. It's not easy- I've been there not too long ago. Realize how lucky you and your family are to have had him in your life. That ache in your heart is love with no place to go, and it speaks of the man.

Jane, we are so sorry for your tremendous loss. Ginny and I did not know Vern for long, but he impressed us right away as a kind and generous man. He made beautiful cherry wood furniture and donated some to our son's memorial fund auction. We will be forever grateful.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

This is such sad news to hear about such an amazing man. Vern Plummer will always be one of my favorite teachers and best coaches. I will always hold such fond memories of our softball years together. Seems like just yesterday as we all piled in the bus with Janie driving us wild girls around as Vern just shook his head and smiled that contagious smile. My heart goes out to all family and friends of this kind soul, may his memory always fill our hearts with love.

I am so sorry to hear of Mr. Plummers passing. I can honestly say he was one of the few teachers I genuinely enjoyed seeing in class. He always made time for every student and showed he cared, not only about how we were doing in school, but how we were doing outside of school as well. He always called me "Elvira," in middle school because I had long dark hair. I know what an impact he made in my life, and can only imagine the impact he made in others. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

When I first got hired to work at Gorham Middle School there was a gentleman who reminded me of my dad and grandfather, gentle, kind, a great sense of humor, and knew when to stand up for things... I enjoyed working with Vern and always appreciated him. After he retired from teaching he and Jane often drove buses for the track meets I coached. Hearing of Vern's passing made my heart ache. Jane, I am thinking of you and the rest of your family in such a hard time. I will always smile when I think of Vern.

I'm so very sorry to read of Vern's passing. We took many classes together and played basketball while at Gorham. One of my many happy memories, this one showing Vern's sense of humor and logic, was when we were ready to enter the classroom of a required class for the first time. Some other students were complaining about the class being a waste, all you had to do to get a "C" was show up, if you sat in the middle of the room you got a "B", and the front row would earn you an "A". Vern was a better student than I, but neither of us were going to turn down a gift! We beat everyone to the front row! Vern was a great guy, and although we've only touched base a few times over the past 45 plus years, I cherish his memory and his friendship! Rest in peace dear friend!!

So sorry to read of Chip's passing!! Many fond memories of growing up in Gray with him, his brothers, his sister, and wonderful parents. Vividly remember him playing basketball with two championship teams. He and his fellow teammates were heroes to me! I also looked up to him as I too officiated hoop games for twenty-seven years...he and Reggie Grant were mentors. Later after leaving teaching/coaching at Windham, I met him as he taught at Shaw JHS/Middle School in Gotham where I annually ran their QSP/Reader' Digest fundraiser. His passion for teaching and kids was contagious! Many fond memories of a great guy sustain me! Sympathies to his family during these difficult times! He no longer suffers and is at eternal peace. Thanks to God for allowing me to know Chip Plummer!
