You chose a lovely picture of him. He was a very important part of our lives. His sense of family, his integrity, and his love grounded us and our family. Vern was the center of my mother's life. From the first time they met she said she felt safe with him and they were constant companions. He was a gentleman. And a terrible, wonderful, tease, oh, yes. I hear his laughter in my ears. Our children grew up with a Grandpa Vern and love him as I do, for his loving presence in our lives. I am honored to have known him.
