Veronica L. Pittius, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished member of the Hazlet and Bayshore community, passed away surrounded by her loving family on March 21, 2025, at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank. Born on Valentine's Day, February 14, 1941, in Rahway, Veronica's life was a testament to love, resilience, and creativity, traits that she carried with her throughout her 84 years.
Veronica grew up in the warm embrace of her parents, Carmen and Verna Parisi. She would later become the nurturing matriarch of her own family, guiding them with the same love and strength she had known as a child. Though she was predeceased by her parents, her son Robert Pittius Jr., and her former husband, Robert Pittius Sr, Veronica's legacy lives on through her devoted sons and daughter-in-law, Herbert Pittius, and Joseph and Theresa Pittius; her sister and brother in-law, Annie and Richard Mueller Her grandchildren, John Adamczyk, Jessica Pittius Newman, and Joseph Pittius Jr. along with three other grand children. Veronica had 17 great-grandchildren; her nephew. Andrew and her neice Amanda.
Veronica's professional life was marked by dedication and service. For 23 years, the community of Matawan knew her as a friendly face at Foodtown, where she worked with commitment and care. Later, she brought her meticulous skills as a clerical secretary to Silver Line Windows, from which she eventually retired.
Beyond her work and family, Veronica had a rich tapestry of interests that brought joy to her and those around her. She had a sharp mind and a fondness for crosswords and board games, which kept her quick-witted and always ready for a challenge. Her excursions to Atlantic City were filled with excitement and laughter, as she enjoyed the thrill of the games and the bright lights of the city. Veronica's hands were rarely still, as she took pleasure in making dolls and cooking, baking her famous cookies for everyone to enjoy, and watching soap operas activities through which she expressed her love and creativity.
However, it was her passion for art that truly captured her heart and soul. Veronica was an artist, a creator of beauty, who found solace and expression through her paintings. Her artwork was not only a form of personal fulfillment but also a gift to all who had the pleasure of experiencing it. Her pieces, imbued with her spirit and talent, will continue to bring inspiration to her family and friends.
As we say goodbye to Veronica L. Pittius, we celebrate a life beautifully lived. We will hold her in our hearts, remembering her warmth, her laughter, and the countless ways she enriched our lives. Veronica's journey was one of joy and artistry, and though she has left this world, her vibrant spirit remains with us, painting our memories with strokes of love and grace.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Veronica's life on Saturday, March 29, 2025, from 4PM to 6PM at the Jacqueline M Ryan Home for Funerals Inc. 233 Carr Ave Keansburg
