Veronica Ann "Petrusky" Suppa

Veronica Ann Suppa, known affectionately to her friends and family as Vera, passed away peacefully at her home in Springfield, Pennsylvania on February 20th, 2026, at the age of 97. Born on November 29th, 1928, in Shenandoah, Pennsylvania, Vera was a woman of remarkable intelligence, kindness, and musicality. Her legacy is one of artistic passion and familial dedication.

Vera was a graduate of Chestnut Hill College, a place where she truly blossomed in her love of music and the arts. This is where she met her maestro and the love of her life, her husband Carl Suppa. For many years, the two traveled the world side by side performing in various operas and concerts. Vera went on to teach and empower various generations of young women at the Academy of Notre Dame de Namur for the following 55 years of her professional career.

Vera's life was rich with love and family. She is predeceased by her husband, Maestro Carl Suppa, sister Emily "Concetta" Petrauskas, brother Albert Petrauskas, and grandson James A. Grabey. She is survived by her three wonderful children, Carl J. Suppa, Regina (nee Suppa) Grabey and Elizabeth (nee Suppa) DeSteffano. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Carl Joseph Suppa, William Suppa, Elizabeth (nee Grabey) Viliamas (Andrew), Carla (nee Grabey) Hughes (David), and Regina M. (nee Grabey) Bayley (Edward). Vera's legacy continues through her four adoring great grandsons.

Visitation and mass will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Springfield on Friday, 2/27/26 at 9-11a.m., Mass to follow at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be private.
