Vicente "Vince" Rodriguez, age 85, of Alma, Michigan, passed away peacefully at his home Saturday, March 22, 2025.
Vince was born July 19, 1939, the son of Francisco and Justina (Mauroza) Rodriguez in San German, Puerto Rico. He married his life-long love, Midia "Miriam" Tirado on March 11, 1961. Vince worked as a logistics and transportation supervisor for Michigan Chloride for twenty-eight (28) years.
He is survived by his daughter Wanda (Todd) Pomeroy, son Israel Rodriguez, grandson Vicente Rodriguez, III, daughter-in-law Julie Rodriguez, his nephew Jose Rodriguez whom he adored and considered a son, Jose's wife Jennifer Justiniano, their children Justin and Juliana, close niece and nephew Jennifer Rodriguez and Richard Rodriguez, brothers Felix "Camilo" Rodriguez and Antonio "Toñín" Rodriguez, as well as numerous other nieces and nephews.
Vince was known for his generosity and kind heart. He was raised in a small town where he helped his family farm sugar cane. He relocated to Alma to pursue a better life. In his spare time, Vince enjoyed sharing life stories, was a sport enthusiast (baseball and basketball) and restoring antique cars. He especially loved the Pittsburgh Pirates and would root for any Boricua athlete to celebrate his heritage.
Vicente was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sons Harry and Vicente, Jr., daughter-in-law Sherri Rodriguez, sister Catalina Cruz and brothers Ramon and Demetrio Rodriguez.
Visitation and services in Alma, will be held Friday, March 28, 2025, from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm with a prayer service starting at 7:00 pm at the Lux-Moody-Wolfel Funeral Home in Alma. Services in Puerto Rico will be held at Aviles Funeraría in San German. Interment will be at the Porta Coeli Cemetery in San German. The family respectfully requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Alma Little League, using the donate now link below.
