Vicki Kathleen Akeroyd, 76, of New Braunfels, Texas, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, September 24, 2025. She was born on July 26, 1949, in San Antonio, Texas, and lived a life dedicated to family, service, and love. Vicki graduated from McCollum High School in San Antonio, TX in 1967 where she was a majorette. She proudly graduated from San Antonio College with an Associate of Arts Degree in 1979 and Southwest Texas State University with a Bachelor's in Applied Arts and Sciences in 1981. Vicki was a proud civil service employee, traveling the world, devoting 37 years of her career to public service before her retirement in 2006. Vicki is survived by her loving son, Jeffrey Akeroyd (Debi) and daughter, Sharon Woolever; four cherished grandchildren, Lauren Akeroyd Ward (Ben), Garrett Akeroyd, Brett Hopkin (Nicole), and Lauren Callahan; and four adored great-grandchildren, Blake Ward, Heath Ward, Colt Ward, and Bennett Hopkin. She also leaves behind her cousins, Sandy Hancock and Terry Sawey, nephew, Kirk Ward, niece, Melanie Kurtz (Ricke), great-nephews Bradley Kurtz and Matthew Pearce, great-niece Bailey Kurtz, and numerous devoted and lifelong friends. She was an avid animal lover, cherishing all creatures great and small, but especially her sweet companions, Lola and Nolan, who brought her endless joy and comfort. Vicki was preceded in death by her parents, Frances and Victor Willis; aunt, Iris Willis, sisters, Shirley "Pat" Forister and Sylvia Ward (Jimmy Ward); and niece, Danee' Ward; along with several beloved pets over the years. Her legacy of warmth, generosity, and devotion to her family and animals will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. A celebration of life will be announced and held at a later date to honor Vicki's memory. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Ashley's Kitten Academy, a non-profit cat rescue organization that Vicki proudly supported, or to the Humane Society of the New Braunfels Area, in her honor, reflecting her lifelong love of animals.
