Vicki Lynn (Brelsford) Dawson, 75, of Short Gap, died Thursday, September 19, 2024 at UPMC Western Maryland.
Born December 15, 1948 in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Baker D. and Mary Frances (Haines) Brelsford.
Vicki was a 1966 graduate of Fort Ashby High School.
She had belonged to Wesley Chapel Methodist Church.
Vicki loved nature, especially butterflies, flowers, hummingbirds, and deer. She was a big fan of Dale Earnhardt and Dale Earnhardt, Jr. She loved the Pittsburgh Steelers and the WVU Mountaineers. Above all else, she cherished her family, especially her grandsons.
Survivors include her loving husband, James "Jim" Dawson; sons, Mark Dawson, and Chad Dawson; grandsons, Jake and Dale Dawson; siblings, Donna Pyles and husband Glen, and Rodney Brelsford and wife Diane; daughter-in-law, Amy Dawson; and special friends, Janet Weaver, and Kay Riley.
Friends will be received at Wesley Chapel Methodist Church, Short Gap, on Saturday, October 5, 2024 from noon-1:00 PM.
A memorial service will follow at 1:00 PM with Pastor Scott Knowlton officiating.
Inurnment will be in Fort Ashby Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Short Gap Volunteer Fire Department, 128 Knobley Road, Ridgeley, WV 26753.
The Upchurch Funeral Home, Inc., Fort Ashby, is handling arrangements.
