A celebration of life for Vicki Jean McGuire, age 71, of Baton Rouge will be held at 3 o'clock on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at St. Andrews United Methodist Church 17510 Monitor Ave. Baton Rouge, LA. 70817 with Rev. Drew Sutton officiating. An 11 o'clock graveside service will be Saturday, December 30, 2023 at Arcadia Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick's Funeral Home in Ruston.
Ms. McGuire was born in Ruston, LA, on March 4, 1952, to Douglas and Mabel McGuire and died on 12/8/2023. For most of her adult life, she lived in Baton Rouge, LA, teaching English and journalism to middle- and high-school students at Episcopal School, Parkview Baptist School, Catholic High School, and Victory Academy. She was a member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, where she served as a lay reader, participated in the prayer group, assisted in Sunday-school administration, and sang in the choir. In her free time, she enjoyed designing scrapbooks for family and friends, constructing paper creations, and cooking.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister Betsy Teuton. She is survived by her sister Sandra and her husband John Hebley of Dallas, TX, her brother-in-law Hank Teuton of Montgomery, AL; niece Heidi and her husband, Jason Stoddard; nephew Bill Hengstenberg and his wife, Stephanie; great-nephews Joshua Stoddard, Jacob Stoddard, and M.J. Hengstenberg; and great-niece Samatha Hengstenberg--all of Dallas, Texas.
Memorials may be made to the Methodist Children's Home in Ruston or the charity of your choice.
