Vicki was born in San Diego, California, on November 22, 1961, to John and Barbara Schulze.
Her family settled in Woodside, New York. It was there, in the heart of the city, that Vicki met
Sonny Piccolo, the man who would become her soulmate. Their ten-year romance was a
whirlwind of passion, adventure, and deep connection, culminating in their marriage on June 14,
1986. Vicki often described Sonny as the love of her life and their love was a beacon of what
true partnership should be-a blend of friendship, trust, and unwavering support. Their love
story is a testament to the power of devotion, a bond that continues to inspire all who were
fortunate enough to witness it.
After their wedding, Vicki and Sonny moved into a cozy studio apartment in Forest Hills, New
York. The following year, they welcomed their first daughter, Christine. With a shared love for the
beach and a desire to raise their family outside the city, they soon decided to settle in Tampa,
Florida. In Tampa, Vicki dedicated herself to creating a warm and loving home, eventually
opening a children's daycare. She became the mother of two more children, Brian and Gina,
and her love for her family knew no bounds. Vicki had a remarkable gift for making each of her
children feel uniquely cherished. Her home was always filled with warmth, comfort, and endless
affection.
Vicki's love for children extended beyond her own family. Her nurturing spirit led her to accept a
teaching position at Palma Ceia United Methodist Day School, where she became known as
"Miss Vicki." She found immense joy in her role as a preschool teacher, touching the lives of
countless children with her kindness and enthusiasm. Whether at school or in the neighborhood,
she was a beloved figure, always ready with a smile, a hug, and a listening ear for anyone who
wanted to chat.
In 2015, Vicki faced one of life's greatest challenges when she was diagnosed with brain cancer.
Yet, even in the face of illness, her spirit remained unbreakable. With a radiant smile and a
determined attitude, she continued to live life to the fullest. During this time, she was blessed
with three grandchildren-Lucas, Lizzie, and Logan-who brought new joy and purpose to her
life. Vicki had a special way of connecting with her grandchildren, turning even the simplest
activities into magical experiences filled with laughter and fun.
For eight years, Vicki refused to let cancer define her. She lived each day with grace, strength,
and an unyielding zest for life. When her cancer returned, the love and support she had always
given to others was returned tenfold by the friends and family who cherished her. Vicki's
friendships were marked by loyalty and sincerity; she was someone you could always count on,
radiating warmth and optimism even in the most difficult times.
Up until the very end, Vicki lived her life without limits, embracing every moment with courage
and joy. She will be remembered for her boundless energy, her unwavering honesty, and her
deep love for those around her. Vicki believed in life everlasting, and now she is with Jesus,
lighting up heaven with her beautiful smile.
Vicki's legacy is one of strength, perseverance, and love. As a devoted mother, her love will
continue to be a guiding light, inspiring us to live with the same kindness, generosity, and
thoughtfulness that she embodied. As a fun and loving grandmother, her playful spirit and
boundless love will live on in the hearts of her grandchildren, who will forever cherish the joyful
moments they shared with her. And as a wife, Vicki's enduring love for Sonny set an example
for all of us, showing us the true meaning of devotion, patience, and understanding. The
strength of their bond is something we all aspire to-a guiding light in our own lives and
relationships.
Vicki left behind a legacy that will continue to inspire all who knew her-a legacy of love,
compassion, and an unshakable belief in the beauty of life.
