I was stunned and saddened to learn of Vicki's death. She was the most dear person -- smart, pretty, and most importantly, highly decent. When I think of Vicki, I always think of something the author E. M. Forster wrote about the true aristocrats of life. Vicki was a member in good standing of what Forster called "an aristocracy of the sensitive, the considerate, and the plucky.... They are sensitive for others as well as for themselves, they are considerate without being fussy, their pluck is not swankiness but the power to endure, and they can take a joke." That was Vicki exactly.

If anyone deserves to be in heaven, it is Vicki. I cherish the privilege of having known her, and I will miss her more than words can say.
