Vicki Lynn Smith, age 75 of Dayton, OH died peacefully on March 1, 2026 after a long illness. She was born on March 16, 1950 in Dayton, OH to parents, Walter and Patricia Smith.
Vicki was a 1968 graduate of Graham Local High School in St. Paris, OH. She was a retired employee of the United State Post Office in Dayton where she worked for 40+ years. Vicki had a near photographic memory and memorized every zip code in the state of Ohio. She loved any form of art and wrote many beautiful poems and songs. She had a passion for music and loved to go to blues festivals and soak up as much music as she could. She played the guitar and harmonica, and loved to sing and dance. She was a kind, generous, content soul who will be deeply missed. Vicki was also a deep lover of animals and even trained her dog, Lancer, to wink. Animals trusted her instinctively, a testament to her warm and beautiful spirit, and the safe, loving presence she brought into the world.
Vicki is survived by her sister-in-law, Judy Smith; brothers, Marc (Mary) Smith and Steve (Jane) Smith; many loving nieces and nephews; and her longtime dear friend, Karen Clark.
She is preceded in death by her father, Walter Smith; mother, Patricia Smith; brother, Douglas Smith; grandparents, Nellie and Steve Boksza; niece, Amy Gillespie; and nephew, Scott Smith.
Her memorial service is yet to be arranged.
