Vicki Sutter Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Stark Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Services on Mar. 10, 2026.
SALEM- Vicki Mae Sutter, born November 11, 1946, passed away on March 6, 2026, at the age of 79. She died peacefully in her home of 46 years, surrounded by family. Vicki leaves behind a legacy of love and generosity that will be cherished by all who knew her. Vicki was a 1964 graduate of West Branch High School. After high school she married the love of her life, Burton Beam Sutter III, beginning a partnership filled with devotion, laughter, and deep family roots.

Vicki worked at the Electric Furnace Company for many years, where she made lifelong friends. She had a deep and steady Christian faith that guided her throughout her life, shaping the way she loved, served, and cared for others. Vicki was an animal lover and rescued multiple cats and dogs throughout the years. She was an avid reader and could often be found with a book in one hand and a can of Pepsi in the other. Vicki found her greatest joy in her family. She loved watching her grandchildren play their many sports, sharing Sunday dinners surrounded by those she loved, and joining her friends for lunches filled with conversation and laughter.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Burt, and her parents, Chet and Louise Tetlow. Their memories remained close to her heart throughout her life.

She is survived by her three children, who were her greatest pride: Matthew Sutter; Heidi (Robert) Shepherd; and Burton (Sara) Sutter IV. Vicki's love extended deeply into the next generations, and she delighted in the joy and energy her grandchildren brought into her life.

She leaves behind grandchildren Courtney (Forrest) Bramlett of Ellijay, Georgia; Morgan (Will) Carson of Woodstock, Georgia; Madison (Cody) Millsap of Bremen, Georgia; Connor Shepherd, Caden Shepherd, Carter Shepherd, and Ronin Sutter, all of Salem, Ohio. She is also lovingly remembered by her great grandchildren Turner, Brooks, Weslyn, and Lyla Grace.

Vicki had a gift for making others feel welcome, and her warmth will continue to echo through the lives of those she touched.

Her family will forever hold her memory close, grateful for the years they shared and the love she gave so freely.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Angels for Animals.
