Mrs. Vickie Chavis, age 66 of LaFollette passed away on Monday, October 13, 2025. She attended Rock Creek Community Church of God. Vickie enjoyed fishing, arts and crafts, thrift store shopping, and finding yard sales, but her greatest joy was being with her family. She is preceded in death by husband, Jerry Lynn Chavis, son, Roger Paul Chavis, father, L.D. Chadwell, mother, Ellen (Stepp) Chadwell Clouse, step-father, Archie Clouse, brothers, Robert Chadwell and Michael Chadwell, sister, Janice Bailey, brothers-in-law, Stanley Bailey, Bobby Bolinger, and Marshall Goins.
She is survived her daughter, Patricia (Chavis) Glandon and husband, Robert; sons, Michael Chavis and wife, Melanie, and Zander Lewis; grandchildren, Michael Dawson Chavis, Roger Chavis, Jr., Dameon Chavis, Victoria Chavis, Isabella Chavis, and Nevaeh Goodman; great-granddaughter, Kinsley Chavis; sisters, Teresa Chadwell Goins, Debbie Adkisson (Bryan), Brenda Chadwell, Carolyn Murray (Rev. Audie), Patricia Shelley, Talia Clouse; nieces and nephews, Tim Bolinger, Angie Bean, Tonya Hembree, Leona Cochran, Brittany Brummitt, J.R. Adkisson, Mark Bailey, and Kevin Bailey; several other extended family members and friends.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 16, 2025 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Walters Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 PM with Rev. Audie Murray officiating. Family and friends will meet on Friday, October 17, 2025, 10:30 AM at Walters Funeral Home and proceed to Chadwell Cemetery for 11:00 AM Graveside Services and Interment. Walters Funeral Home of LaFollette is honored to be serving the family of Mrs. Vickie Chavis.
