Vickie Lynn Mitchell

Vickie Lynn Mitchell, age 70, of Maud, Texas passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2025. She was born on February 15, 1955, in Amherst, Texas to Howard and Joyce McClure.

Mrs. Mitchell was a nurse for many years and she spent those years caring for the elderly. Vickie had the biggest heart and would always open her home to anyone in need. She loved caring for the people in her neighborhood, especially the children. She loved to cook for them and care for them as if they were her own. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing card games - especially poker and spending time with her loved ones. She was a wonderful and loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.

Mrs. Mitchell was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Larry Mitchell; her brothers, Lonnie Green and Melvin McClure; and her best friend and cousins, Cheryl and Jimmy Nunn.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons and daughters-in-law, Kristopher and Tamara Kirby, Robin Kirby and Leah Arendt, Gary and Kym Kirby; her grandchildren, Alexander, Kade, Brady, Kyle, Kaleb, Ashton, Madelyn, Isaiah, Ashley, Emily, Gracie, Tanner; her great-grandchildren, Geric, Mally, Stetson, Relaine; her sister, Tresa Benton; her beloved dog, Jax; and a number of other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are being made under the direction of Bates-Rolf Funeral Home – New Boston, Texas.
