Vickie Estes Walker, 73, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at Lynchburg General Hospital in Virginia surrounded by her family. She was born on September 26, 1950 in Alamance County to the late Grady Willis Estes and Ivey Jane Drye Estes.
Vickie retired from the Alamance-Burlington School System after 20 years of service. She enjoyed gardening, interior design, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. Her grandkids were always a main joy and priority. Vickie was a member of New Hope Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and played the piano when needed. She was a loving, caring and giving person to everyone, Vickie will be missed dearly.
Survivors include her son, Nicholas “Nick” Walker and wife Susanne; a daughter, Stephanie Januzys and husband Chris; her grandchildren that she adored, Alex, Gavin, and Hannah Walker, Jacob, Cameron and Haley Januzys; and her church family.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00pm Sunday, January 14, 2024 at New Hope Baptist Church by Rev. Randy Hobbs with a private burial at Belmont Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3pm to 5pm Saturday at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory.
