Vicky Aguirre Obituary

Vicky Lynn Aguirre, 68 passed away on October 2nd, 2022, peacefully surrounded by her family. Vicky was born on January 17th, 1954, in Ukiah California to Norma Jean Carpenter. Norma Jean later married Vicky's stepdad Lawrence Day where she gained two stepbrothers Mike and Jeff Day. She lived all over the country while her stepdad was in the military including Winslow, Arizona, St. George, UT and Ely, Nevada. That's where she got her love for traveling. She attended many elementary and middle schools and graduated from White Pine County High School in Ely, Nevada in 1972. She later attended UNLV and majored in art. Mom loved to draw and was a very talented artist, she also met many longtime friends while attending. Her and her family later settled in Burley Idaho after Bean retired from the military and then moved to Idaho Falls before finally settling in Pocatello a few years later. She met Israel Aguirre at a get together in American Falls in 1978 where he fell for her charm and beauty. They married on May 24th, 1980, in Pocatello. They later had three children Joey, David, and Rosie. She worked for Pocatello Regional Medical Center for many years where some of her longest and best friendships came about. She then worked at Pinehurst Floral and Greenhouse during her retirement and met a great group of friends who she cherished so much. Mom loved to have us kids over, grab her tablet and play old music. She loved every dog she came in contact with and wanted to take them all home. Her and our dad loved to travel with no specific destination in mind, no GPS just a map and they loved every moment of it. Some of her best stories and memories were about her and dad getting lost on the open road less traveled. She was the happiest while traveling. One of her favorite places to go was Winslow Arizona. She would play the Eagles song Take It Easy while having our dad stand on the corner and take his picture. She adored her family so much and we hope we continue to make her proud. Our mom was the sweetest soul the world has ever known and loved everyone she ever met. She absolutely had no hate in her heart. She was the best storyteller and loved the Eagles. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was proceeded in death by her parents Bean and Norma Jean Day, her sister Terri and many cherished pets including Tommy and Rowdy. She is survived by her husband Israel of 42 years, sons Joey and David, daughter Rosie and son in law Shannon along with her dogs Winston and Houston. We would like to thank everyone at Quinn Meadows and Enhabit Home Health and Hospice for their care and generosity during our difficult time.
