It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Eduviges (Vicky) Ybarra Sanchez, who departed this life peacefully on November 15, 2025, at the age of 76. A dedicated resident of Tucson, Arizona, Vicky originally hailed from Carlsbad, New Mexico.
Vicky was a remarkable woman, known for her boundless devotion to her family and friends. Her legacy of humor, artistic style, and passion for life will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.
As a devoted mother, sister, wife, and cherished grandmother, Vicky's impact on her loved ones was immeasurable. She is survived by her beloved husband, Johnny Sanchez, and their four sons: Ricky Sanchez, Michael Sanchez (Celia R. Sanchez), Albert Sanchez, and Frank Joseph Sanchez.
Her grandchildren—Apolonia Sanchez (Rick), Paulette Sanchez (Michael), the late Albert Sanchez Jr., Johnthan Sanchez, Jacqueline Sanchez (Albert), Frankie A. Sanchez Jr., Alina Y. Sanchez, and Estevan Sanchez (Frankie)—along with her great-granddaughters Aria Noel Plumley, Sophia Galvan, and Ezmariah Sky Sanchez, and great-grandsons Paul Jr. Galvan, William C. Dickinson, and Logan R. Dickinson, will carry her spirit in their hearts.
She is also remembered fondly by her sister Julie (Chapy), brothers Luis Ybarra (Sally Ybarra), Johnny Ybarra (Oralia Ybarra), and Rogelio Ybarra, as well as her late siblings: sister Elva Munoz and brothers Mingo Ybarra, Manuel Ybarra, and sister Olivia Ybarra Rodriguez.
Vicky maintained special lifelong friendships with Yesenia Martinez, the mother of Albert’s three children, and Gloria A. Brandos, the mother of Frankie’s three children, both of whom she loved dearly. She leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will miss her deeply.
Services in her honor will be held on Friday, November 21, 2025 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Martinez Funeral Home, located at 2580 S 6th Ave, Tucson, AZ 85713.
