Victor Manuel Barreira

Victor Manuel Barreira, aged 65, passed away on September 15, 2024, in Columbia, MD. Born on May 10, 1959, Victor was a cherished individual known for his kindness, intelligence, and dedication to his family and work.

Victor graduated from Mt. Vernon High School in New York and later earned his degree from City College of New York. He dedicated his career to engineering, working diligently at the Maryland Department of Transportation, State Highway Administration division. Victor was not only committed to his profession but also to the welfare of his community and the betterment of public infrastructure. A lover of the outdoors, Victor found joy in hiking and exploring new landscapes. His passion for travel was matched by his love for culinary adventures, often dining out with friends and family to explore new eateries. His warm, loving nature made him a beloved figure among all who knew him. Victor is survived by his loving wife, Maria Lourdes, his daughter, Victoria Louise, and a large family of siblings, in-laws, an aunt, cousins and second cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Maria Fernanda Barreira. Services to honor Victor's life will be held at Gate of Heaven on September 30, 2024, at 12:30 p.m. The family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Cancer Society, a cause Victor deeply cared about. This gesture will help continue the fight against cancer, a mission important to Victor and his loved ones.
