Victor Cecil Boyd, 81, of Zanesville, Ohio passed away on November 7, 2025, while in the care of Altercare of Zanesville. He was born on April 21, 1944, in Sharon, Ohio to Forrest and Thelma (Walters) Boyd. Victor graduated from Caldwell High School in 1962, and attended Eastland Technical College. He worked as a Master Plumber for many years, until retiring from his plumbing and heating job as a technician for GMN Tri-County.
He was a member of the Lifeway Church, the Muskingum County Senior Center, and the Lifeway’s Men’s Group. He was a detailed artist and won awards for his paintings. Victor was a handyman who could fix anything; he loved his family and was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and Great-grandfather. He enjoyed listening to and singing hymns, watching westerns, listening to country music, and he most especially loved dogs.
Victor is survived by his wife of 61 years, Irene F. (Shanaman) Boyd, whom he married April 17, 1964, his daughters, Annetta (Randy) Woodford, and Helen (John) Sidwell; his sons, Victor (Amie) Boyd, and Troy (Kristen) Boyd, his grandchildren, Justin, Aaron, Andy, Abbigail, Grant, Jeana, Maxton, Josey, and Murphy, as well as his great-grandchildren, Clayton, Christian, Brody, Autumn, Laighya, Kynleigh, Benson, Axton, Brevan, Suttyn, and Mason, and his sister, Kaye Hill; sister-in-law, Norma Shanaman; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his grandson, Mason, a nephew, Delton Hogue, and his sisters, Josephine (Boyd) Archer, and Jeanette (Boyd) Hogue.
A cremation will take place under the direction of the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE. A memorial service for Victor will be held at the VFW located at 1427 East Wheeling Ave, Cambridge, Ohio on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 1PM. His family wishes to extend their thanks and gratitude for the wonderful care provided by Shriver’s Hospice, and the staff of Altercare. Their kindness and consideration was deeply appreciated by his family.
