Victor DePamphilis Obituary

Victor DePamphilis, of Newington, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, November 8, 2023. He was the beloved husband of Rosa (Nicotera) DePamphilis for 65 years. Born in Pratola, Peligma, Province of Aquila, Italy, son of the late William and Viola (Puglielli) DePamphilis, he immigrated to Hartford before settling in Newington over 50 years ago. Victor was employed by the City of Hartford for 36 years before his retirement in 1992 and was a member of the Mt. Carmel/St. Cristina Society in East Hartford. He was a devoted Red Sox fan, avid reader and a lifelong listener of radio. You could always rely on him being a supporter on the sidelines at his children and grandchildren's' sporting events. Along with his wife Rosa, he leaves his four children, Susan Ryan of Newington, William DePamphilis and his wife Schona of Newington, Angelo DePamphilis of Berlin, and Victor DePamphilis, Jr. and his wife Melanie of Newington, his seven grandchildren, Megan and her husband Brian, Matthew, Michala, Evan, Brooke, Cody and Madison, and two great grandchildren, Juliana and Brielle. He also leaves his brother-in-law, Frank Nicotera and his wife Marilyn of Wethersfield and his sister-in-law, Josephine Orsini of Wethersfield. His family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Hartford Healthcare Hospice for the care and compassion shown to Victor. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Sunday, November 12th at the Duksa Family Funeral Homes at Newington Memorial, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. His funeral service will begin on Monday, November 13th, at 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of the Holy Spirit in Newington. He will be laid to rest in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Susie and Family, I am so sorry for your loss. My heart is breaking for you all. I loved Vic as if he were my Dad. I have funny memories of him talking over dinner at his house and Susie kicking me under the table as if, don't listen to him... Well, he always had something to say and this particular day it was global warming and guess what he was right. He was a very smart guy and loved unconditionally. I will keep him close to my heart always. My deepest condolences to you all. Love and prayers.
