Vic was a frat brother of mine some 40+ years at UK. What a great, fun guy to hang with, always with a good laugh and such a good nature.
Vic btw was crazy athletic, Vic, Tracey Giles and I were a 3v3 man hoops team on the campus and battled a lot getting one game short of playing at halftime at a Rupp UK game. Vic was unstoppable underneath, be it a post up move or strong rebound, you could not stop him from scoring, you could not block his shot or out muscle him. Loved playing on that team with Vic & TG so memorable, so fun. Great brother and friend and recently jumped into our frats sports text thread, so nice to hear from him.
Vic will be missed.

If you are fortunate in your life you meet a person that is a light that attracted other people to them. Vic was that person for me. We worked together for several years. Vic was the person everyone wanted to be with. He was kind , generous and if you wanted/needed anything he made sure to make you happy . Vic was truly a most unforgettable character. Its hard to image the world without Vic there for everyone .

Vic Desimone, more than a star, he seemed like the Milky Way. The town school children and teachers knew him as the generational “Candy Man”. Who could forget a Halloween night with Vic. A man of all seasons, Vic provided a one pound Hershey bar on demand, gifted baked bread, stone fired Pizza, and lemonade to anyone in his path. Vic was our veritable “festival” even in his back yard. Pure KY Wildcat, he knew how to provide a welcoming atmosphere at work and play. Long live the spirit of “The Kentucky Candyman”.
Words are not enough to describe the light Vic brought to the world. We all felt a part of Vic’s galaxy knowing he was spreading and modeling his goodwill for anyone he met. In words and deeds Vic showed us an ethical responsibility to the other. People in Vic’s path received his generosity. Vic could spin wool into golden thread. His life was for the other, and especially for his wife, Beverly, daughter, Victoria, his 2 grandchildren, her husband Lee, and the Parke family. All givers, this family has the spark to relight their lives.
The spirit of Victor Desimone will live on through his wife, family, and friends. Vic, one of many enlightened individuals who offered us a model for the art of living. Much hope for the future because Vic was on our green planet as a friend and mentor, We mourn his loss, but rejoice in his life, and the joy he encouraged in our Kentucky communities. Much hope for the future. Thanks Vic.

Beverly and Victoria we are thinking of you both and want you to know how our heart aches with you. Vic was always so jolly and loved sharing the candy. My mom (Betty Hendrix) loved you guys so much. She was glad to help you when Victoria was born . Mom was glad Victoria was there to help her when she was at the nursing home . So Vic and mom can now watch over us till we join them one day.

Vic was a loving husband ,father and doting grandfather. He was a giving man, he would ask if I was ok and if I needed anything. He would send donuts, and snacks to me and some of my coworkers and even lunch and never wanted anything back. If he called his wife and I was in her office he would tell me all kinds of jokes. He's no longer on this Earth but will always remain in our hearts. May the Angels welcome you to Heaven.

I have known Vic since he was a little boy. His contagious smile matched his wonderful personality. Growing up he was everyone’s favorite, always kind, and caring. He is leaving behind a wonderful family and friends that will miss him terribly. Earth’s loss is heaven’s gain for surly he entered the portals of heaven. Much love and prayers to his family.

So sorry to hear about Vic. Although we are cousins I was not around Vic very much since I live in Michigan. The last time I saw him he was here and we met for dinner. You could tell in a minute there was a joyful loving good man. He will be greatly missed but will live in the hearts of those who loved him.

I met Vic when I worked at the Hershey Company. He made life and work so much fun. I am proud to say we went from co worker to friends and have kept in touch throughout the years. My heart is broken to hear of his passing. I will miss our catch up calls talking about our love for our families and good memories from the past. Vic was full of life and such a joy to know. Praying for his family during this difficult time.

One of the best people to walk this earth. Vic was the life of the party regardless of where the party was. In a meeting, dinner, on a plane, tailgate, home or just hanging out. His personality, stories, smile and heart will always remain in my heart!!! No matter what, he ALWAYS put his family before anything else. He told everyone that would listen that Beverly and Victoria were the his heart and soul. UK Basketball and Football were up there as well. No matter what was going on in his life, Vic made you feel loved. My stomach always hurt when around Vic from laughing so much!! The best story teller. I honestly don´t think Vic had a mean bone in his body. I will miss the stories, the laugh, the hugs but most of all I will miss my friend. Rest in peace my brother.
