Victor Harvey Obituary
Victor is the son of Glen and Neva Bennett Harvey, born July 22, 1963 in Wayne County. He was a 1981 graduate of Connersville High School and had been employed as a roofer as a member of United Roofers and Waterproofers Union. Local 119. He primarily was employed as a foreman with Henry C. Smithers Roofing and Sheetmetal Company in Indianapolis. Victor loved being outdoors and liked fishing, canoeing and taking bicycle rides. He often entertained as a humorous storyteller. His love for his daughter and grandchildren was apparent as he taught them many useful life skills. Victor enjoyed working with his hands, building tables, shelves and remodeling. In his leisure time, he liked to play pool and board games with his family.
Victor is survived by his daughter: Chelsea D. Harvey Lamont and her companion, Travis Clemans of Guston, Kentucky; his grandchildren: Adrhianna Lamont and Roman Clemans; his siblings and their spouses: Paul Harvey, Lynn Harvey Patterson and Tim, all of Connersville; Neil Burkhardt and Terri of Brownsburg, Karl Burkhardt and Renee of Ada, Oklahoma; Lisa Sembach and Paul of Glenwood, Julie Haus and Bill of Dayton, Ohio; Melody Sherer and Merle Rogers, both of Richmond; his companion: Karen Compton; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Victor was preceded in death by his brother: Michael Harvey, his sister: Darlene Harvey; his niece: Kimberly Smith; and his former wife: Jovetta Levi Harvey.
Friends may visit at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home from 11 a.m. Saturday, January 7, 2017 until the time of service. Public funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with his brother, Pastor Karl Burkhardt, officiating. Interment will follow in Dale Cemetery, section L. Memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans or to the Indiana State Police Fund. I known Victor for over three decades, him and I worked together for many years. if fact we traveled together for work. Victor and I had lots of fun times. Him and I never had one harsh words in all the years.I remember when you were born Chelsea the smile on your dads face it was priceless. I know he loved you more then anyone could ever know. Victor I love you brother I'll see you in less then 14/ minutes according to you brother Neal. keep on killing then with that great smile. Until I see you again. PS I would of gave your car back anyways bro lol.

Uncle Victor & I weren't real close. We weren't real close either because of ages/distance. I am not good with words but thought I would share that I never felt judged. I could be who I was. If you know different don't let me know. His humor and common sense is already missed. He was smart/real. His home was welcoming. You have my sympathies. Fb me if you ever need anything.

Dear Chelsea,
I only met your Dad once at Julie's daughter's funeral. I found him to be personable as he was handsome. He told me that his home was a historical landmark because it was a station for the underground railroad. Again, I'm sorry for your loss. He will be greatly missed.

I am so sorry to hear this and my prayers to the family for your loss. I knew Victor when I was in my early twenties and we became good friends. We lost track over the years as friends do when life takes different directions. I have only fond memories of a really nice man. RIP Victor

Victor and I had many classes together at Connersville High School including the Vocational School of welding with Damon Baker and myself.we were all very good friends and have a lot of great memories togeather . I'm very upset and sorry for your loss Victor was a very unique individual and had a good heart. He will really be missed.
