Victoria Susanna "Vickie" Newsome

Victoria Susanna "Vickie" Newsome, 59, died Friday, October 24, 2025, at her home in Garden City, Kansas. She was born February 7, 1966, in Dodge City, Kansas, the daughter of Paul Roy & Mary Beth (Hipp) Schupman.
Vickie has lived most of her life in Garden City where she attended Garden City schools. A homemaker, Vickie enjoyed spending her time camping, fishing, and shopping. She also loved to have fun with her kids, spending time with her grandchildren, and adored her puppy, Bree.
On July 8, 1983, she married Matthew Donald "Matt" Newsome, in Garden City. He survives. Other survivors include a son Jacob Donald Newsome (Sharise Sperry) of Garden City; a daughter Mary Ann Richardson (Matthew) of Garden City; 2 brothers Michael Schupman of Garden City and Franklin Schupman of Portland, Oregon; a sister Juli Barr of Ocean Isle, North Carolina; 4 grandchildren Charli Irwin, Ezekiel Irwin, Maddox Newsome, Kaitlynn Nosker all of Garden City; and her puppy, Bree.
Vickie is preceded in death by her father Paul Schupman; her mother Mary Beth Stickney; and her stepfather Terry Stickney.
A memorial service for Vickie will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City, with Rev. Bob Bates officiating. A family burial will take place at a later date at the Ingalls Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.
