Victoria Lee Rose

Victoria Lee Rose, 75, of Harrisburg passed away, Saturday, October 18, 2025, at home surrounded by her daughters.
Born August 5, 1950, in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of Vincent and Roberta DiGiosafat. Vickie graduated from Lansdowne High School and attended the world-renowned Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University. She also held a master's degree in vocal performance from Towson University. After a brief stint teaching in Baltimore County public schools, she relocated to Harrisburg where she taught piano and voice lessons from home while her children were young. A celebrated soprano, Vickie was in demand as a recitalist, oratorio and chamber music soloist in Harrisburg, Baltimore and Philadelphia. She was an adjunct professor at York College and Assistant Professor of Voice at Lebanon Valley College. With a passion for ensemble singing, Vickie was a member of the Alumni Chorale of LVC and often sang solos with other choral groups throughout Pennsylvania, in the Susquehanna Chorale, the Chamber Singers of Harrisburg, the Choral Society of Harrisburg, the Central Pennsylvania Choral Festivals, and the Chamber Singers of Philadelphia. As a member of the Masterworks Chorale and Orchestra under the direction of Dr. Pierce Getz, Vickie was a featured soloist in concerts throughout the United Kingdom, Germany and Italy.
Surviving are her three daughters, Elizabeth (Basil) Triscari, Susan (Bill) Shinn-Thomas, and Christine (Eric) Brooks; 11 grandchildren, Courtney (Ben) Allen, Brianna (Eric) Williams, Brad Thomas, Noah Brooks, Ryan Brooks, J. Curtis Shinn, Chayce Brooks, Benjamin Brooks, Christopher Thomas, Brendan Thomas, and Sebastian Triscari; sister Deborah Kuehne; sister-in-law Janet (Walt) Larson; brother-in-law James (Janice) Rose; and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Vickie was predeceased by her loving husband of 52 years J. Curtis Rose, her brother Vincent DiGiosafati, and her parents.
Vickie's greatest joys were her family, music and her students who affectionately called her "Rosie." She enjoyed family beach vacations soaking up the sun and sleepovers with the grandkids. Her love and encouragement knew no bounds and extended to her friends and students who she treated like family. She inspired everyone who met her with her grit, perseverance, and charisma.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at Market Square Presbyterian Church, 20 S. 2nd Street, Harrisburg, PA 17101 with Pastor Anne Ross officiating. Visitation will be at 2 p.m., with a service following at 3 p.m. Ample parking is available at Market Square Garage attached to the church.
