Vicky Lynn Zortman, 77, of Kennesaw, Georgia, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2025.
Born on November 4, 1948, to Charles Cole and Marlyin Phyllis McPherson, Vicky’s creativity and warmth were evident from a young age. She loved making things with her hands and spent many cherished hours sewing with her Grandma Esterbrook—moments that helped shape her lifelong passion for crafting, decorating, and bringing beauty into the world.
With a high school education and a natural entrepreneurial spirit, Vicky went on to create several businesses, each reflecting her talent, imagination, and determination. Her sisters lovingly described her as “a very gifted woman,” a sentiment shared by everyone who witnessed her many creative pursuits and the care she poured into them.
Vicky married the love of her life, David Zortman, and together they shared 28 years filled with partnership, laughter, and devotion. She was a proud and loving mother to her two children, Jon Byrd and Debbie Farley, raising them with compassion, strength, and an unwavering belief in the importance of family.
A doting grandmother, Vicky found her greatest joy in her grandchildren—Benjamin Byrd, Mackenzie Byrd, Elise Byrd, and Summer Farley. She attended every event, celebrating each milestone with enthusiasm and pride. Her love for them was limitless.
Vicky also enjoyed gardening, finding peace and fulfillment in nurturing life from the soil. She loved visiting Seaside, Florida, a place that always brought her happiness. At home, she adored her pets—Annie, Googoo, and Cali—who provided companionship and comfort throughout the years.
Above all, Vicky will be remembered as a deeply creative, loving mother, grandmother, wife, and sister. Her legacy lives on through the family she cherished, the beauty she created, and the countless lives she touched. She will be profoundly missed and forever loved.
