Vincent Chiarella Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Monti-Rago Funeral Home, Inc. on Mar. 12, 2026.
Chiarella Jr.

Vincent, lovingly known as "Jimmy," of South Philadelphia and Wildwood, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at his home in South Philadelphia on March 10, 2026, at the age of 90.

Born on October 3, 1935, Vincent was the beloved son of the late Vincent and Amelia Chiarella. He was the devoted husband of Sarah Ann (nee Carfagno) Chiarella, with whom he shared a life centered on family, hard work, and love.

Vincent was born and raised in South Philadelphia on Mole and Moore Streets, where he learned the value of dedication and family from an early age. As a young boy, he worked side by side with his parents in the family butcher shop, an experience that helped shape the hardworking and generous man he became.

Later in life, Vincent followed his passion for food and hospitality by opening his own family business, Chiarella's Ristorante in Wildwood, New Jersey, which he proudly owned and operated for over 40 years. The restaurant became more than a business-it became the cornerstone of his family's legacy and a place where countless memories were shared with friends, neighbors, and visitors.

Vincent expressed his love for his family and friends through his passion for cooking, always bringing people together around the table. His warmth, generosity, and dedication to those he loved will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

He is survived by his loving children Ralph Chiarella, Robert Chiarella, Dina (Thomas) DeFino, and Sheree (Rocco) Sebastiani, and was predeceased by his sons Vincent Chiarella and Michael Chiarella.

Vincent was the proud grandfather of Mia Chiarella, Vanessa Chiarella, Dinaee (David) Scirrotto, Ralph Chiarella Jr., Robert Chiarella Jr., Thomas DeFino, Michael Chiarella Jr., Ava DeFino, Rocco Sebastiani, Luciano Sebastiani, and Joseph Chiarella, and the cherished great-grandfather of David Scirotto Jr. He was also predeceased by his beloved granddaughter Gia Marcella Chiarella.

Vincent's legacy lives on through the family he loved deeply and the many lives he touched through his kindness, hard work, and devotion to bringing people together.

He will be remembered always as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend whose life was defined by love of family, faith, and tradition.

Relatives and friends are invited to his VIEWING Tuesday March 17th, 2026 9AM to 10AM at the Church of St. Monica, 17th & Ritner Sts., followed by his Funeral Mass at 10AM. INT. Holy Cross Cemetery.
